Post by Lorenith »

Well I've read through these cause I like to see how people live, and I asked some questions of my own, so it's only fair that I pay back the forums huh! It's also the easiest way for me to clearly consider my inner thoughts without getting carried away, is simply baring myself to the whole world. I guess it's cause I'm able to more easily distance myself emotionally when I do it in such a way. :)

1.) Greatest desire: My greatest desire is to become a good artist and writer. I've always had stories and dreams in my head that I want to try to tell people some day. Stories that I hope will make an impact on people, make them think, stories they can enjoy. I want to draw/paint to give people wonderful things to look at too.

2.) Biggest Fear: Failing, passing from this world without having made it better or happier for some people. I think of how much I wish I could help and make a difference yet am incapable of doing so and it makes me feel intensely sad, knowing that I am not a strong enough person doesn't really help much.

3.) Is there a something/someone stopping you from acheiving your greatest goal and if so-why let it/them?!!!! Yes, I let it/them hold me down because I don't have the resolve or resources a lot of the time. Sometimes I feel empowered and push ahead as much as possible with a frightening amount of enthusiasm though maybe some day I'll be able to do it more consistently.

4.) Where do you live currently and what is the state of affairs in your region these days?: Where I live is incredibly transient, I roam around Texas during the semester, go to Ohio during breaks to be with my Guy as well as my best friend, and occasionally visit San Fransisco to see my mother. The state of affairs for Texas is horrid, not in an economic sense but in a people sense Texas does not take care of it's people in need and it's children (it's far more likely to abuse them). Economically speaking this state has some of the healthier cities in the nation. I'm about to become a million times more lost and transient then I was before, I have yet to solve this problem but I hope I do because it is incredibly terrifying.

5.) what's your favorite JACK moment on bones?: You know, actually it might seem a little mean, but the moment when Angela asks Jack about that rubber band, and then snaps it as she walks off. The face Jack makes conveys a lot of feelings (including extreme annoyance) at once. I'll admit the tempo for that whole scene really did amuse me...

I feel like a bad person to say most of my fav moments have been negative times for Jack, where I find myself saying "poor Hodgins!" and feeling a little teary, but I guess it's because they made such a deep emotional impression on me which is extremely rare and that's I like them the most. I liked all the experiments too, but I'd be surprised if someone doesn't.

1.) Greatest desire.
"To love and be loved in return", i gess that's what it's all about. Love. What would we do without it ? It's not just about finding the greatest love of your life, it's also about friendship and family... One of the things that matters the most to me is to be there for each other in the good and the bad times, that's what helped me going through most of the bad ones and moving on, rising above it. If i can have that until the end, then everything else will follow.
Besides that i really hope i can achieve one of my greatest goal : well it's going to be hard to explain lol Actually, the profession i'm seeking for is pretty hard to name in english, i even wonder if it exists in US though i do know there are social workers there but i'm not sure this specific one exists. 'Cause in france you have different professions for social workers, this term is just general to regroup them. There are two of them which are probably the most 'important' and widespread : 'Assistante Sociale' which you would call 'social worker' in US and 'Educateur Spécialisé' which i can't name in english. If you litteraly translate it you'll obtain this : Specialist Teacher. But it's wrong, 'cause it's absolutely not about teaching... To describe the job a little more, it's about accompagnying people through the difficulties of their life to go to their autonomy. It can be any people (you probably already know that about social workers) : adults (homeless persons, addicts, etc), teenagers (orphans, young mothers, etc), handicapped (physically or mentally). Well, the difference with that profession is that it's 'day-to-day', you're not working in an office, you're on the field and you're a lot closer to these people... And that's what i wanna do with my life, i hope i'll succeed at getting into a school and then be good at my job. (hope i didn't loose you guys there lol)
The last thing i wanna add here which is very important to me, i hope i won't get lost in the way of life, by getting a job, having a family, and forget about getting involved into politic's matters 'cause i think we live in a world highly uncertain full of inequalities... And i think it's important not to lose the sight of that 'cause while we're still young we can act, and i think it's our duty. (but of course, if you like the world the way it is, then there's nothing to be worried about ^^)

2.) Biggest Fear.
I guess it would be failure and loss.
Failure because... i don't know actually lol Well, probably 'cause i don't really trust myself most of the time which i shouldn't i know that's stupid, but how i feel, so...
Loss, well that's a term that regroups lots of things at the same time. I'd say it's about losing what you love the most, when you've achieved something you've worked for, for so long and then lose it or finally find someone, you're half, and lose it.
Maybe what it's all about is never finding happiness.
(otherwise i don't like spiders either, nor snakes by the way lol)

3.) Is there a something/someone stopping you from acheiving your greatest goal and if so-why let it/them?!!!!
Well, that's funny because, when i read most of the replies to that question i pretty often see that people say 'me'. And i think that most of the time, only ourselves are getting in the way. I believe that what we think to be an obstacle is actually an excuse for not achieving our goal, unconsciously or not. For my part, i've made a lot of excuses lol And that's probably 'cause i've always been afraid of failure... At least i'm aware of that ^^ (workin' on it lol)

4.) Where do you live currently and what is the state of affairs in your region these days?
I live pretty close to Paris, in the suburb. I think there's no need to say what you can see there ^^ Of course it's a beautiful town, but living there makes you see it differently with its shortcomings, but it's not really the subject so i'll pass on this one ;)
About the state of affairs, well, it doesn't seem so good around here, especially concerning the housing. Without mentionning the growing numerous homeless there, you'll see that it's getting harder and harder to find a place for people who earn the minimum salary or even less... It's actually a good moment to buy because the rates of loan are lower now, and since the crisis sellers have lowered their prices (but it's not the people with a minimum salary that can afford that) but if you wanna lease, well, it's not changing and even getting more and more expensive... Anyway, i think these days are difficult for anyone, anywhere.

5.) What's your favorite JACK moment on bones?
Really hard to say, there are so many ^^ As a lot of people here, i loved all the Zack ('king of the lab' lol) and Angela's moments ('be my love' > so cute :D)... More recently, i've been pretty touched by his behavior on the episode 404 when he stops all the conspiracy theories and doesn't wanna face his grief, there were lot of emotions transcribed there...
For 'Aliens in a Spaceship' i'll have to agree on this one, especially because that's probably the first episode when we actually start to discover the character, what's beneath, and it's been very emotional too ^^

Well, it's been a pleasure to answer those questions and read all of your replies :)
Hope i didn't make too many mistakes in my english and you could follow most of the things i meant to say...

Link, you're all about the love, and that is really important in life. You care.

I would call such a worker a personal mentor. It is about teaching/training, but about teaching people to use their own resources and giving them the skills to cope with life. It sounds like a really brilliant calling - if a hard one.

Your English is fluent and beautifully expressed. You've really made me think here, Link.

Well, i said that because when you'll read 'Specialist Teacher' you'll think more about teaching in a school knowledge way rather than in a social worker dimension, but if you put it that way it works out perfectly actually ^^ And yes, it is a hard calling, you really have to know where you're getting yourself into before choosing that path...
Thank you for all of your compliments, it really touches me that you felt that way by reading me 'cause i've put a lot of heart into it :)

Mais oui, c'est ce que j'enseigne, les langues vivantes.

But obviously I don't do it constantly, as it can make people feel excluded. Nevertheless, we have so many French and German friends here (I teach German too) that from time to time I like to make them feel at home. Sometimes I have a try at Spanish - I would love to learn that properly some day.

1. My greatest desire is to one day rescue all the abused and abandoned cats and dogs. I want them all to feel love and wanted.
2.My son is a cutter my biggest fear is that one day I will walk in on him lying in a pool of blood with no life left in him. (he is getting help)
3.My goal this year was to lose more weight. Last year my clothing size was 16/17 and I rode my bike 4 miles a day to reach a size 12/13. This year I wanted to reach a size 8. I joined a gym and even hired a personal trainer. The only thing keeping me from my goal is the car accident I was in last month left me with back pains and my feet are partially asleep all the time. Till they figure out why I have to stay a size 12/13.
4.I live in Southern New Jersey. I live 45 min. from Atlantic City, 45 min. from Philadelphia. As in a lot of places being laid off of work is a fact of life over here.
5.My favorite Jack moments are all of them. When he's sweet, serious, angry, crying or even laughing. I love seeing him with no shirt on. I love those sexy eyes.

Ok, I will try to make this clear enough

1) Greatest desire... I have definitely lost hope to find the right man for me, so I would return to my first ever secret desire: act in a funny series on tv :P I used to be in a theatre troup loooong time ago and also miss being on stage. Beside of it, I have a second greatest desire which takes all my thoughts and time right now which is help my kids become real men and help them be able to make the right choices in their future life, get the work they want...

2) Greatest fear... See my boys unhappy in their lives (I don't want to think about them die before me...) For my personal part: I could say that I would fear dying in the ocean (I'm such a bad swimmer, nearly sank 2 times :D ) There's also this little thing which I don't know if it can be considered as a big fear, but I'm always wondering if I'm boring people and I always take care of what I say or do in case they would feel bad about how I behave. Isn't it stupid??? :?

3) Stopping me from acheiving my greatest goal... first of all, my parents, who thought being an actress was totally stupid and broke a part of my dreams. Then, I met my kids' dad and get pregnant very young. I had to leave this man (violence wasn't what I had expected in my love...) then I have raised my kids alone and they took me a lot of time, so I put my dreams in my pocket and try not to think too much about it. And of course, money... Drama course are highly expensive, so... In some years maybe  Or I will go to some casting just pretending I'm the greatest one!!!   Sorry, I've lost controle! :?

4) Where do I live and what is the state of affairs here... I'm currently living in Eaubonne, in the northern suburb of Paris. This is not really an interesting place, I'm not enjoying it so much, though I love Paris :D About the state of affairs here, well Link has already told almost everything about it  Thanks Link!

5) Favorite Jack moment on Bones... each time he appears :D It's a great character and it's hard to pick a specific moment. TJ is an amazing actor, we all agree on this point :D

I hope it's not too messy
Thanks for reading

Hi Véronique, I would like to thank you for posting so movingly and so interestingly. As with everyone on this thread, I really feel as if I have got to know you better. I think that is what TJ intended when he asked us the questions. I really identify with your intense love and concern for your boys, I truly do.

Yes, I have noticed it. You seem apologetic even here and worry whether you have made mistakes or bored us. Not true! :)

Lol that reminds me of me ^^ But yeah, i have to agree, not true ! You seem to have had an interesting but hard life... And so cute to see how you talk about your children, i'm not there yet, but i do get that it can be a great concern in your life ;)

Anyway, what ThyneAlone is saying makes me wonder : how would you feel about another topic where we'd add a few other questions to get to know each other even better ? ^^ Maybe the persons in charge of this forum could prepare some kind of questionnaire that people would answer as they wish... :)

Good thought. But to be honest, that's what the sofa's for. When I first started sorting the threads here into different forums I wanted to make sure that we had a balance between keeping TJ to the fore and forming a friendly community. It's not as easy as it sounds! So basically we keep the Welcome area dedicated to the community - the Sofa for talking about ourselves in depth (if you try to read the sofa take a couple of pages at a time, it's daunting!), the Random thread for our interests, the introduction thread for new people saying hi, etc - and the other forums are dedicated to various aspects of TJ... if you think of other things which would make the forums better, go to the Site Ideas thread in this forum and suggest them. We try to be as democratic as possible! ;)

Hello T.J. and all,

My biggest desire would be for all people to be kind to each other. I would love to wake up and find everyone full of love and compassion and living in harmony. A dream, I know...but I do my part in that dream. For everyone to have what they need, no homeless people. For everyone to be well and healthy and happy and to never die. For all animals to be treated like the angels that they are. And lastly to live without physical pain.

My biggest fear is losing my Mother and my very, very special 18 y.o. kitty that has been my child. He is my whole world, I love the little guy so much.
Image

Stopping factor is debilitating physical pain! Can't get beyond that for some reason. Believe me, if I could I would. It upsets me to see people take good health for granted! It is a tremendous blessing to live without pain, and anything can be accomplished if one is that fortunate, anything! I would give anything to return to my distant running (18 yrs) and hiking the strenuous trails of the N.C. and Georgia mountains.Image

Raleigh, the capitol city of N.C. A pretty city with slight rolling hills and lots of foliage due to strict city regulations. Pretty much a white collar yuppie type town with lots of interesting International restraurants and beautiful parks. It is fantastically located only 2 hours from the coast and 4 hours from the "Great Smokey MTNS." which I have hiked hundreds of miles. The current job market is down of course, but not as badly as the other surrounding citys. It has been voted the number 1 place to live twice for good reasons.

Favorite Jack moment.... I have only seen two episodes as I just found out about "Bones". I don't watch T.V. often. But I discoved you T.J., when a friend sent me the "Validation" video, and I said "who is this guy?!!" So I did a lot of research and discoved this very special, friendly, caring and talented man. Wow...not only do you have the face of an angel, but you are ultra talented. Your soul shines through on the screen so well. You light up a room with your smile and your eyes. But getting back to the subject... I watched a lot of utube clips and all my favorite "Jack" moments are the ones where you are showing emotion for Angela. Your acting is so awesome that the moment seems most real when ever you have a part that requires you to show true deep emotion.
And that Chevy commercial is the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. I have watched it over and over and sent it to all my friends. What a hoot! You have a fantastic singing voice by the way. :)

Dragonfly, those are beautiful answers to TJ's questions. I think he'll be really pleased to see how thoroughly you have tried to respond. Your replies have made me want to know more about you, needless to say - we attract such interesting people here. Do get on over to the Welcome forum and introduce yourself so we can all say hello. 1.) Greatest desire.

My greatest desire would probably be to succeed in life, to get a book published or a film script made. But really I want to be loved, I want to meet someone who will love me for who I am and to have a family of my own (I know that is a little strange for someone of my age). I want to do well in my GCSE's AS and A levels, I want to go to University and study English. I know that's a lot of asks but I'll try as hard as I can to get them.

2.) Biggest Fear.

Ooh, my biggest fear- I'm terrified of enclosed spaces and running out of air. I'm scared that my family will die- everyday when I leave the house I yell out 'I love you all' incase something were to happen to my family. I'm scared that I will fail in life.

3.) Is there a something/someone stopping you from acheiving your greatest goal and if so-why let it/them?!!!!

I'm not sure about that one, I think the only person who can get in my way to stop me from reaching my goal is myself.

4.) Where do you live currently and what is the state of affairs in your region these days?

I'm a London gal and I go to a private school which is ranked in the top five in London. What with the credit crunch everyone is very strained and full of worry, it effects everything in our lives.

5.) What's your favorite JACK moment on Bones?

Oh every single one! It's common knowledge that Jack is my favourite character in Bones. I especially loved the 'Alien in the Spaceship' episode- both TJ and Emily deserved awards for their acting in that episode. I also loved the swing moment.

I hope these will satisfy you TJ!
