Favorite Character

I just wanted to say how TJ Thyne's acting makes him my favorite character in the Bones series, and thats also coming from a former Angel fanatic. I like David Boreanaz quite a lot, but theres just something about how TJ plays Jack that just makes me smile in every scene hes in, hes always either doing something funny, or just using his body language to make even a non-comedic line seem funny or make you smile.

I think it's pretty safe to say that everyone's favorite character on this website is Jack! You are so right about T.J.'s use of body language--it speaks volumes and adds so much to each scene. So glad that we'll soon get to see some more great T.J. acting as the new season starts.

Then if I say that my favorite character is Brennan, you are all going to come and hit me with a femur? 
Nah, really, TJ's character as well as Emily's are my favorites. They are all great actors and actresses but those two are the ones that really caught my attention since day 1. I love how Hodgins brings up the humor to the conversations in the show and at the same time he can be dead serious. He's a character that has so many things to be explored yet!

Welcome, Marksman! Is this your first post/visit to TJ's site? I hope you come back and join us, especially as the new season is about to begin so there are sure to be some posts popping up. Come, visit us over in the Welcome threads. Introduce yourself!
As for favorite characters, yes, I would say that Jack Hodgins is my favorite. I don't know what it is, but there was something about him from the very first episode that resonated with me. I remember thinking, if the writers are smart, they'll develop these secondary characters, the Squints, because there's something interesting about them. They have personality. They have good quirks. Jack was at the top of that list. He still is. I really wish they'd do more with his character.
Don't get me wrong, Booth and Brennan have personality too, but I don't know... maybe it's to do with the appeal of the 'underdog.' I like characters that are a bit geeky. People with smarts who also make me laugh. People who have layers waiting to be revealed. Those are the characters I'm drawn to first, I think, and Jack Hodgins fits that bill.
Each of the Bones characters is interesting in his or her own way. I love them as a team. I love seeing them work things out together. I hope Season 4 returns to more of a team aspect, though I am leery, given that the very first episode already splits them up, with Booth and Brennan going to London, leaving the rest of the team behind... I guess we'll see where things go from there.
Sofi, Sofi, Sofi... we're not going to hit you with a femur! A humerus, maybe. But not a femur! 
You know I'm kidding. You can like whatever characters you want.

Yeah this is my first post/topic on this website, Im also drawn to Jack because I really like the side of him that is a conspiracy theorist and I love how hes always the one that knows all these little known details that everyone else seems confused by. Like the Illuminati and other weird things. Altho Angelus davids old character from Angel for those non buffy fans, is my favorite character of any series, ever, Booth is only my 3rd favorite character of Bones, after Jack, then Brennan. Im only now starting the third season on DVD so I need to finish that up so I can start watching the 4th season as it comes out. I just watched Se3X01 and it felt SOOO unnatural for the first half for the episode before Zack got home.. it just felt wrong .. so I cant imagine how its gonna feel like in season 4 KNOWING that Zack wont be part of the team .. Guess we'll just have to wait and see ..

Oh, I think you'll find a few Buffy or Angel series fans here, myself included. There were some amazing episodes throughout both of those programs, and David was a very big part of that. Do you have particular favorite episodes, or is that too difficult a question because there were so many quality moments throughout?
Regardless, I agree with your assessment about the 'weirdness' in the s3 premiere. I felt so relieved when Zack finally walked through the door. It just wasn't the same without him.
I'll be very curious to hear your thoughts about the various season three episodes as you watch them.

I've finished watching season 3 now, and .. wow.. just .. yeah .. shocked .. Didnt see that one coming, but it was SO obvious that everyone was falsly accusing Jack, I mean .. that woulda been way too obvious to have been him, and then the way they over accused him made me realize so quickly that it wasnt him .. but it was sad how brennan was able to talk Zack away from Gormagon in just a couple sentences of logic .. meh .. and then Booth getting shot, I didnt see that coming till she pulled out the gun ..
As for favorite Buffy / Angel episdoes, I particularly like ALL of Angelus' flash backs, and even more, I absolutely LOVE when he plays Angelus in the present .. hes so much more cunning, energetic and cocky when he plays Angelus as apposed to Angel
Im starting to keep up with Bones Season 4 on
http://www.hulu.com because I dont have cable at the moment, but the episodes are beging added every wednesday on hulu .. So far its okay, but Im waiting to see them make someone more permanent in the assistant role, first they had the young black guy leave, and then the ditzy girl, and then the older car sales man .. Im just not too impressed with those characters, as I guess your not supposed to be, but I wanna see a more permanent member of the team start to evolve and make friendships with the rest of the team.
Thats all Ive got to say about it so far .. what are your thoughts?

Hodgins is my favorite for pretty much the same reason, and yes, i was also an Angel fanatic.
I miss the experiments between Hodgins and Zack, those were some of the funniest moments in the early seasons.
My second fave would have to be Booth.

Have to admit that I like bits of all the characters, except maybe Cam who I haven't quite taken to, not that I dislike the character just don't find her interesting.
I like Hodgins 'cos he's quirky, especially his sense of humour. He also makes what could be a very geeky character, sexy in an understated way (I'm actually quite liking angry Hodgins too although we won't go there!)
Brennan is hysterical in that she's just like most peoples' subconscious with the volume turned up, she has some brilliant lines.
Sweets looks about ten and you just kind of want to give him a hug when he feels unwanted AH BLESS!!!!
Booth is sexy in a more obvious way and more of a people person so can probably relate more to him and to Angela who I reckon is also more sociable.
All in all they are a really good mix for a programme which depends so much on the interaction between characters.
....... I know I missed Zack, 'cos I'm a bit undecided as to whether I like the character or not.
