I think it was in "I kissed a girl" when she made me laugh so hard I spit my tea out. I don't know anymore what she sad though, I just know that I thought "That'd be a good line for Cam, too".
I have to watch it again, then I can tell you ;)

And I like Sasha Alexander a lot more as Isles than I liked her as Kate on NCIS, don't know why.

Angela, I watched a few episodes from CASTLE season 2, started with "Tick, Tick" till the season finale. Really great! The season finale was a bit sad, because he took the wrong woman with him, but I know they just wanted to keep the tension up between Castle and Beckett. Looking forward to season 2 on German TV anyway. Try to watch a bit of season 3 somewhere! :)

I bought the DVD box of "Firefly" but haven't watched it yet! Looking forward to it! :D

The Monday epi of Rizzoli and Isles scared the crap out of me. Those serial killers creep me out. The surgeon now, on Bones it was Epps... I don't like them.
(Why is a GG quote now in my head?! For the GG peeps:
"I don't like'em"
"You don't have to like them, they're a safety feature"
"I wanna horn!"
"Fine you want a horn, I'll get you a horn. You're happy?!
" - just to illustrate what went through my head just now... )

And I bought "Caramel" today. Anyone know that movie? It's a Libnese/French production about four women in a beauty shop in Beirut. Great film. I was susprised to find it at the DVD store today, because usually I have to order films like that online.

Calling all creative graphics people for advice!

I've already sent a message to Sharon -- Ms. Queen of the Graphics Lab  -- but just in case, in order to get some extra perspective, I thought I'd put this question out to some of you as well.

I'm working on a web site for my current class, and for it I'd like to change the look of the sidebar. Instead of just some basic rectangle or a rounded-edged rectangle, I'd like it to be shaped like a cauldron bubbling over a fire, or -- because it's a narrow sidebar which might not fit a full, round cauldron -- maybe have it look like a tall stock pot (like this lovely one). It doesn't have to be a photograph (in fact, I think I'd prefer it not be a photo); it could be a sketch. What would be really cool is if I could have a few fiery flames lapping at the sides at the base of the pot, and steam or something bubbling at the top of it. But the main thing is that the pot itself needs to be a 'blank slate' with enough space for me to put navigational links to various parts of the site layered on top of (or within) the pot image.

I am not a graphics person, so I ask: do any of you know a way for me to create this? Where do I start?

It doesn't have to be all fancy; in fact, right now my sidebar is just a section of web site space with a colored background (a pale green), and I made the edges look rounded by inserting two basic Photoshop images -- one placed at the top of the sidebar section with rounded corners for the top left and right corners of the rectangle, and one placed at the bottom of the sidebar section with rounded corners for the bottom left and right corners of the rectangle, in order to create the illusion of a rounded rectangle sidebar. So my point is, it can be a basic thing. I just don't know where to start, to create such a thing, because it's more than my very basic rounded rectangle sidebar.

I figure I could insert pieces of the image into the sidebar, and just write on top of it or within the margins of the pieces, but I don't know how to create the image itself to even get started!

Anything you could tell me to point me in a direction would be very helpful because graphics aren't my strong point so I'm uncertain how to accomplish this, even in a very basic graphic sort of way. Are there parts of Photoshop that can make flames or steam/smoke tendrils? Is there a site I can go to in order to create such a thing as a stock pot shape with stuff bubbling at the top of it?

Any suggestions to guide me? Thanks!

xoxo

I need your help!

A question, if you please:

I'm trying to create a web site for my class, and on a page I'm linking to 3 types of writing I will be including on the site -- essays, fiction and commentary. I have picture links for the essay page and the fiction page, but I can't think of a picture to use that says 'commentary.'

So I ask you: what comes to mind when you think of 'commentary' (as in reviews of films, books, music, tv episodes, etc.)? A picture of a TV? A movie film reel? Drama masks? A microphone? A newspaper? Something else? What do you think is a standard image that would work to link to my commentary page? What speaks to you?

Any opinions? Comments? Thoughts? I appreciate anything you can suggest, because my brain is not coming up with anything. ARGH.

Thanks, my friends!

xoxo

Well, before I even read it in your suggestion, I was about to recommend the microphone for the commentary, that's the first thing that comes to my mind... Actually, I "see" a hand holding a microphone, like in an interview...

Fellow Firefly fans, Jewel Staite (Kaylee) is starring “Call Me Mrs. Miracle”, airing this Saturday, November 27th, at 8pm on the Hallmark Channel. One of those sappy movies I mentioned in my other post, should be great :).

I'm a fan of Castle - saw earlier a 5 sec teaser of the episode - the kiss to be more exactly.

Somehow I knew that kiss :romance-kisslips: would be used as some kind of a distraction. Saw some previews of it. But anyway, it was really nicely done! It's a start! :romance-lips: And the episode was really exciting! :romance-smileyheart:
