It's been awhile since I wandered over here, and now I know I need to do it more often -- because *this* is where Sherry goes! :D ...not to mention a group of other fine souls, including the man himself.

Besides, this is much cozier than MySpace, which I still can't figure out. I keep trying though, and posting long, windy rants to exactly four people: one that I live with, two that have already heard every story I've ever told, and Sherry (but that's only because Will hasn't answered my friend request yet...prolly because she's heard it all over on el jay).

So I'm thinkin' I should make myself comfortable on the sofa, if there's room.

There's a lunar eclipse tonight; witches call this month's full moon the Quickening Moon. (Such possibility! The anticipation!) I have no idea what we'll be able to see here in the northeast, but there's always great energy around these times -- especially if it inspires delightful Jack/Angela eclipse romances from the writers in the group.

HI all!!!
I am very new to sofa time but I hope there is room for just one more :D I am just recently in the 20 bracket( please dont hold it against me...I have been told time and time again I have an old soul)
I am a musician, I play the violin(for 9 years now), sing, play guitar and keyboard...I love to act and sing so of course I am highly active in musicals, the last one I was in was fame and I played the acting teacher...if anyone has seen harry potter and can recognize professor trelawny...that was me in a nutshell. I love to read anything I can get my hands on and write my own stories(most of which come to me in dreams) I am very bubbly, and energetic. Most of my co-workers ban me from coffee in the morning(yup I am that morning person) I am the oldest of 4, my parents are divorced, I have friends all over the globe ( even more now...yay life rocks) My roomate is a philosophy major and therefor quite amazing and very good with advice and encouragement...he is always dependable on those days you just need someone to chat with...as am I, I know you dont know me but if anyone is ever having a bad day or just needs someone to listen to me you can email me at catylind2003@yahoo.com...as zack said in one episode of bones...I live to serve. I have moved 18 times in my life( texas to new york back to texas and various households in between.) I hope to move to california next year to pursue a career in writing. I have a very active imagination and I feel I could be put to great use in Hollywood :P I am an english major( was a music therapy major then psych and now english) I hope to get a ph.d in creative writing. I love all forms of music...currently I am listening to mika...he is quite the crooner, but I will listen to anything..old...new...american or foreign...it is all magic. My dislikes are mainly just people who continually put themselves down...and the sound of people brushing their teeth...yup im wierd like that lol. and now i am super hyper because of that very strong coffee-esk drink I had earlier with my friend melody. Sorry for the babbling...but this is way to much fun...as are the smilies...much more fun than other sites haha. anyone who gets through this is amazing but I hope you find it to your amusement :-) Oh! and other than bones I like to watch chuck and mythbusters...im sorry but they have an amazing job. Have a great night all and I look forward so much to getting to better know all of you!

another little interesting tidbit about me is that I am very very petite...im a little under five foot and will for many years to come be asked if I am old enough to work..well anywhere...sigh...but I promise, I am in no way 12...I get it alot...oh and I can speak fluent sign language and am certified as a special sitter...I sit for kids with disabilities and volunteer with the childrens section at the library over the summer. hmmmmm....I know I will keep thinking of more things but until then ciao ( I dream of traveling to italy/greece very soon....)

well that was quite an introduction :D Welcome to the sofa!
and I have to say that I LOVE Mythbusters, if I'm not mistaken I think I dreamed with jaimie and Adam once. yes, they where on a lot in the street next to my apartment, it was weird...like most of my dreams. Anyway, you're the first person I know that watch it too so YAY! I'm so focused on Bones lately that I didn't bother to look for some Mythbuster fandom...

Have a great time around here ;)

ps: I like the unicorn costume, it's very original hehee

Hi catylin!! that was a very lengthy, entertaining introduction. haha. So let's see, you sing, play the guitar, keyboard, violin, act, speak sign language (speak a silent language? ). That's very impressive. Is there anything you can't do? :) . You aren't by chance some kind of teacher? Because we seem to have a fair share of teachers and writers on the site.
Oh boy! you watch chuck too? i love that show. funny stuff.
Well i'll tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Dohee and I'm a freshman in high school, I love to play soccer...Hmm...i can't think of much right now, but that'll have to do for now. :D
Well anyway, welcome to the site and i am very much looking forward to hearing your insights on the ongoing topics of TJ!!!

Welcome, Catylin!

We have all ages here--from teenagers, to, well, old people like me :D !
Hey, I was an English major as well, with an emphasis in creative writing. However, instead of writing the next great American novel, I became an elementary school teacher. I guess the degree came in handy for writing fanfic, but hopefully your studies will take you farther! Glad you're here and we are lucky to have your energy and enthusiam to help us celebrate all things TJ!

That would be amazing  in fact here is really late and I'll be heading to my bed in about 5 minutes so if at least I could have nice *fangirl* dreams (instead of them becoming true!) today, I'll bake virtual cookies for you (though my cooking skills aren't the best... but lets see what I can do!) hehe

Hello everyone, special hello to Catylin as she joined just before me, so we are the closest ones, aren't we?

I'm Kate, a 36 year old banker from Croatia - I look like a teenager and feel like a retired school teacher (this is all of the teacher you'll get from me). What can I say - banking is very stressful, but having a super-dynamic 3-years old son is just killing me.
I am a LEO, which means that summer is my time of year. I was born in the continental part of Croatia, but I will most certainly spend each of my summer holiday at our Adriatic coast. For those of you who do not know much about it - Croatia is bordering with Italy to the south, Slovenia to the west, Hungary to the north and Bosnia to the east - we are quite a mixture of all the cultures, although a Slavic people. Zagreb is a capital city, a city where I was born and where I work. Croatia has a long coast at the Adriatic Sea (which we share with Italians) and more than thousand islands.
I do not have brothers nor sisters, so my imagination was running wild for a long time (until I had my son, to be exact). Some of my friend were quite sure I would become an actress one day, but this has not happened for two main reasons - I could never hold any of the text in my head and I am terribly shy when I have to speak to a larger group of people.
I adore listening to various music (except clasical music as it is not matching my character at all. Lately I'm into Coldplay when feeling melancolic or Gwen Stefani when I need some energy) and I used to dance a lot (even had some amateur jazz-dance appearances on a stage). I have the Bachelor's degree in Economics (have specialised Foreign Trade) and have been working for the same bank (the leading in Croatia) for almost 11 years now. I love my job, because it grew along with me and I can now call myself an expert (relationship manager for banks + international payments specialist). Furthermore, English is my official work language, although I'm quite said I cannot use French or Spanish more often.
Last summer my small family and I have moved to a new apartment in a new small building in a very lovely town close to Zagreb. It is perfect for families with small children.
I am a TV junky, but not a couch-potato. Also wish to have more time for myself, because I used to be quite artistic; designing and making jewelry and clothes. When I was 14 - and this is the age when we finish elementary school and must choose a secondary school - I was admitted both to the Applied Arts and Design School and the Language School. I chose the Language School, as I thought that kind of schooling would make my life easier. And it did, but I do miss being creative now.

Ok, my son woke up, so I must go, otherwise you will be reading unpronouncable combinations of letters on your PC screens

Until later... aligators!

It never ceases to amaze me that such intelligent, vital, creative and articulate people come here. The people he attracts are a great compliment to TJ!

I have a strong memory of having a 3-year-old, once at the age of 32 and once at your age! It gets easier from the 'care' point of view, but it is an increasing drain on your energy and your pocket! It does, however, keep you thinking young, and that is a major reason why, despite genuine frequent stress, I love my teaching job and pastoral care of adolescents. They are interesting developing people.

My 2 are now 19 and 15. One is at uni studying French and having an excellent time, the other will be taking important exams next year but is less academic, more hands-on, his three main loves being cooking, drama and sport, especially soccer. I know regular readers (particularly Dohee) will be delighted to hear that his physio on a weak knee has gone so well that he has tentatively started back to PE and has even played a game with his main team, which has given him a lot of confidence, though his fitness is still not very good because of the months off. He's talking about returning to specialist goalkeeper training next week, which would be fantastic.

Oops sorry - offtopic, we were talking about you! Your country sounds absolutely beautiful and I'd love to hear more about it. And you have the command of so many languages, which makes me, as a linguist, really jealous. I have good French and German and tiny smatterings of Spanish, and can read and understand quite a bit of Italian (my husband and I do a lot of singing, and a lot of it is classic Italian or opera), so I would be interested to learn anything you can teach me! I'm also impressed that you are creative - don't worry, you will be able to take up the pursuits you mention as pastimes and have more time to yourself as your son gets older. I have dabbled in calligraphy, poetry and greetings card design and crafting, all of which I still do on a limited scale; but my favourite leisure occupation is hand fashioning designer teddy bears. I sometimes sell or auction them for charity, but usually give them as presents to people I care for. It's a good way to spread love! My bears have taken over our tiny spare bedroom. There are currently 61 handmade ones sitting on the shelves there, and one is under construction because I do it to relax me! Must make one for TJ, hmm....

Really hope you enjoy being here, Kate, and I look forward to talking to you again. Here - since you're with us on the sofa, may I offer you one of catylin's homemade brownies (hope you don't mind, catylin!)? No less delicious for being virtual, I promise you. Yum!

Thanks Stephanie, I have an extremely sweet tooth and am addicted to chocolate, so there's absolutely no way that I'm going to refuse a brownie... even a virtual one.
As a matter of fact, I have recently (on Valentine's Day) discovered these French - Jacquot "Truffe" with Cognac taste and I'm enjoying them right this moment. If you love dark, bitter, chocolate - find them and try them out!

My son is really, I mean REALLY, cute. He started to go to the local kindergarten a few months ago and already everyone knows him (both kids and all the staff!). He does not stop talking, saying unbelievably funny stuff with this tiny cartoon-like voice. He looks like a doll - perfect little face with big eyes and loooooong eye lashes. He enjoys very much when I call him a Gentleman.

However, I haven't got a second for myself - to read, watch TV, meet friends (most of them still without children)... to have a thought. I miss having my own time... buuuuuuuuu, now I made myself cry! Can I get a Teddy too?

It will be ok, now I have all of you to talk to and find out how things are going in different parts of the world. I just need to go slowly and try to remember who is who and what your interests are.

Croatia is an ex-socialist country which was quite liberal during its socialist times. Nowadays, people are all about nice clothes, expensive cars and the newest mobile phones - a typical consumer society, which makes me very sad. Most of us are miserable - we were much happier when we had less money and more of our own time. Fortunately, lots of people do all kind of sports... we are rather a sport nation, although a small nation.

If you'd like to learn more, check this link
http://www.croatia.hr

Huh, my little beast desires to eat some meat and potatos (that is all he can name out of things we eat), so I have to go, again.

Bok (as we say in Croatia)
