I was just wondering if we are going to go ahed with the party that was discussed recently?
I think it's a really good idea, and i was worried that maybe a date would be set in another post and i wouldn't notice it, so i decided to make a new place for it.
Are there any solid plans at the moment? or is it still in planning stage?
please let me know.

No plans till now, Ellen. (At least I haven't heard of any.) So don't worry, you haven't missed it.

Angela: Well, what about love? What do you have to say about love?
Hodgins: It´s overrated-most of the time Dexter: They make it look so easy-connecting with another human being. It's like no one told them it's the hardest thing in the world.
We are, girls, make no Bones about it, but we would like to wait till we can get the new site up. Sort of celebration. I would like to see if we can get a chat facility and then do the whole thing in real time. Give each other virtual presents and dance to cheesy music. I haven't forgotten it, honest.

Hey Jessica! *big wave*
This was mooted way back..by me, because I'd experienced a party on a message board elsewhere. It's basically a few hours where we all get together on the board and have fun. It can be done in chat, ideally, in real time (of course you need to make sure that your time window accommodates everyone who wants to join in, and then have people drop in and out when they can), or, if chat hasn't been made available by the day we want to hold the party, we can create a special celebration thread so we can post to each other.
You need to come ready to party down virtually. So as people arrive you direct them over to the sofa, offer them food and drink, ask them to dance to their favourite music, have them describe what they're wearing; and then you can have virtual balloons, virtual party poppers and what-have-you. The bit I liked best was there was a virtual parcel for everyone who came, and when you opened your parcel you could choose what the present was. Could be anything from a concert ticket to world peace.
It's great because there's no mess, no allergies or sickness or noise; everyone is catered for (so no worries about our vegans, vegetarians and so on), and you can dress as eccentrically as you like! It'd be a dream if TJ himself managed to drop in and join us. Initially we had thought of having one for his birthday, but now we think the launch of the new board, when everything is sorted, would be a good time. What do you reckon?

Thank you for replying so promptly! That sounds like so much fun! I think it would be a good idea to have it coincide with the launch of the new board. It seems like everyone is working so hard on it and a party would be a nice way of thanking everyone involved!
Yeah, a perfect day, as it is a saturday. I can stay up late and sleep long on sunday! Would be great! So, we use the Chat box, then, or post?
Simone.

Well.
The chat box, not being an actual chat room, has a tendency, I think, to slow down when we have more than 3 or 4 people on. Why don't we have one big party thread and use the chat box as a chill-out room? That would be cool.

The thing is, anything we do will have to be roll-on, roll-off, during the entire day. We set generous time limits up and aim to be there when we can. For example, I cannot promise I will be about for most of 'our' evening. The previous day is my birthday, it's a landmark one and I suspect heavily that the guys are planning something big that weekend. So I can't give certain times for me, but that isn't going to stop me coming henever I can and getting it planned with you others!

I'm getting upgraded that morning (TV, phone, and Internet). Hopefully I'll be back online in time to join everyone before it gets too late on your side of the world!
