I know I'm not in the UK but I'm all caught up! I am so attached to David that I do not think I can handle Matt. I won't say never though. I'm waiting on some really AMAZING reviews from all the Dr. Who fans before I give him a chance....
From those first few seconds that he had at the end of S4 I do not like him....but that could have been because I was crying so hard at the end of David (okay I realize David specifically is not gone, but he was the best Dr. (okay I also realize that this was my first time watching any Dr but I don't care))
Matt has horrendously huge shoes to fill, but he is an excellent actor and I'm convinced he will make the part his own and grow into it. Which is after all the point of the regenerations - to give opportunities for new blood and fresh interpretations.
I'm still nervous, though, because David put his all into that last episode and David Tennant's all is pretty blistering. I have been an occasional Whovian over the years and a change of Doctor can be drastic if you have become attached to the previous one as part of your growing-up process. I really liked Patrick Troughton and Peter Davison of the old canon and actually stopped watching the programme for many years because I so hated the Tom Baker manifestation - slightly luvvy and overdone (of course that was the writing as well).
I think many tend to forget what Paul McGann and, even more, as he introduced the new Who, Chris Eccleston did as the bridge between the different Doctor conceptions. We may find this next season somewhat of a break as well, since Steven Moffat is taking over from RTD. The logo is different already and the Tardis may well be, I believe, given the destruction this latest regeneration has wrought upon it. Doctor Who fans are fairly accepting of change by the series' very nature (although some things seem to stay the same, like the companions being humanoid and therefore readily identifiable-with), so let's just wait and see..I promise I'll tell you if I hate it!

Wiggles answer: The Wiggles are an Australian Pre-School 'Rock Band'. Made up (originally) of four guys, (yellow)Greg Page, (Blue)Anthony Filed, (the sexy one...lol), (Red)Murry Cook, (Purple) Jeff Fatt. A couple years ago Greg was replaced by Sam Moran. THhir show, The Wiggles Show is very popular among preschoolers and features the characters, Captain Feathersword, (also known as the 5th wiggle), Waggs the Dog, Henry the octopuss and Dorthy the Dinosaur. BTW...the colors for each wiggle is their shirt color...lol. They have a ton of videos and dvd's out.

Thanks for the information, Steph, but I think I will not watch the new episodes. I loved David in it so much. Matt is a good actor, no doubt (saw him live on stage once) but I'm just not a fan. So, my interest in DW didn't "regenerate" to the next Doctor! Don't hate me!
But also looking forward to your reports!

Hodgins: It´s overrated-most of the time Dexter: They make it look so easy-connecting with another human being. It's like no one told them it's the hardest thing in the world.

And you will get the reports, absolutely!
Of course I won't hate you! There is no point sticking out of loyalty to something in which you're no longer invested. I know a lot of Bones fans who have dropped off along the way, notably because of the treatment of Zack and, more recently, because of the last season finale. Shows, and audiences, move on. But I will let you know what I think. With me not returning from France till the 3rd it looks like I might get to watch the new Bones & the new Who in one day!!

This is for Simone. Hi Simone! Well, the new Doctor had his baptism on Saturday night, so I was able to see it, and I'm pleased to report that I like Matt Smith. I also like new companion Karen Gillan, who doesn't look as though she will be taking any nonsense from him.
The plot was very fast moving and rich in effects - had to be, to compete with the latter end of the RTD reign - and simply hauled the audience along with magical Steven Moffat dialogue which was extremely funny at times. Of course the plot at this stage is purely a vehicle to introduce the new characters and give them a connection. Matt has aspects of many previous Doctors. Somehow he unites these and adds a spark of his own; he has the mad genius of Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker, the alien quality that Chris Eccleston cultivated and the childlike enthusiasm and wonder of McGann, Eccleston and Tennant. There's also a strong natural arrogance which must come from being the 'cleverest person in the room', and I find that very attractive despite Matt's slightly weird looks, so I think this beginning is very promising. Admittedly he hasn't had a chance to show a personality of real depth yet; it's all been starter fireworks. Nevertheless I am confident, having read a great deal about his preparation for the role, that he'll be able to put a multilayered Doctor together with success and panache. I like him, Simone; give him a try when you are grieving less for DT!

To the delightful TJ T-shirt fans; as this topic is not 'random' and in fact associated with TJ, I have shifted your suggestions into their own thread in the Talk TJ forum. Some great ideas there, if you haven't seen them yet, get over there!

Not sure exactly where to put this, but it is kind of random... Bones fans on Twitter started using their high school pics for their avatars (in honor of the high school reunion next week).

I posted the stuff about Kathy in its own thread under Bones. Feel free to move it--wasn't sure where to put it

Steph, thank you very much for your report about the new Doctor. I heard a lot of good things about him till now, but still don't feel like watching him!
Sorry, I wasn't here for a while, so I couldn't thank you earlier!
Take care!
Simone.

Although it is out of context because they are not high school photos, here are some of my squintiest photos. If I were to have a squinty high school photo it would be the one that was printed in my yearbook of me dissecting a fish... Alas that photo is not available.

Actually so much that I am scared to go to bed in a few hours!
Have any of you seen it?
Must though say it's well done especially when it don't have a million dollar budget - it's amazing but scarry!
Oh, ew. Haha.
I saw it in the theater on halloween when it came out.
The scariest bit for me was the 4 preteens behind me screaming every time anything moved... Ever. Through the whole movie. It was obnoxious.
Though I will admit that when she got pulled out of bed by her foot, I just get that sinking feeling in my throat...
Other than that, I thought the movie was pretty terrible.
And it was all based on (and filmed in) the Directors' suspicions of ghosts in his house.
